How We Work
No sales pitch. This is what we do, how we price it, and the things we will tell you not to do.

- Licensed & Insured
- Chatham County & Pooler Permit Work
- Free On-Site Estimate
- Debris Hauled Away
Pooler Tree Service handles tree removal, stump grinding, trimming, emergency work, and storm cleanup across Pooler and the surrounding Chatham County towns, plus Rincon over in Effingham. Most of what we do is tree removal within a rope length of something expensive, which is a different trade from cutting timber in an open field.
Licensed and Insured, and Happy to Prove It
General liability and workers compensation, both current. Ask for the certificate before we start and we will send it over without any fuss. This matters more in tree work than in almost any other trade at your house, because if an uninsured worker is hurt in your yard, or an uninsured crew drops a limb through your roof, that becomes your problem and your policy. Ask us. Ask whoever else you are quoting against too.
We Quote On Site, In Writing
Nobody can price a tree honestly over the phone. Size, access, what is underneath it, species, condition, and whether it needs a permit all move the number, and several of those cannot be judged from a description. So we come look at it, the estimate is free, and the price goes in writing before any work starts. Stump grinding is quoted as its own line so you can see what you are paying for and decide separately.
The Work Itself
Where there is genuine room to drop a tree in one piece we will do that, because it is faster and it costs you less. Where there is not, which is most of the time around here, the tree comes down in sections on a climbing line or from a bucket, rigged and lowered rather than dropped. Cleanup is part of the job rather than an add-on. Wood and brush leave with us, the work area gets raked, and the drive gets blown clean before we go.
Things We Will Talk You Out Of
- Topping a tree. It is cheap on the day and it wrecks the tree, which then throws weak regrowth and becomes a bigger hazard. Proper reduction cuts cost more and are the only version we do.
- Removing a tree that does not need to come out. Sometimes clearing limbs off the roof solves the actual problem for a fraction of the price. Selling you a removal you did not need is a poor way to get recommended to your neighbor.
- Skipping the permit question. Pooler, Chatham County, Bloomingdale, and Effingham do not all work the same way. We check what applies to your address rather than assuming.
- Waiting on a tree with a lifting root plate. Once the ground has cracked, it is not a watch-and-see situation.
What We Do Not Do
We are a tree crew. We do not do roofing or structural repair, so after an emergency removal our job ends with the tree off the building and the debris gone. We do not cut anything in contact with an energized power line, that is the utility's work and theirs alone. And we do not do landscaping, irrigation, or fence repair, though we will tell you plainly what we found underneath.
Where We Work
Pooler is home base. From there we cover Bloomingdale, Garden City, and Port Wentworth comfortably, and we run up Highway 21 to Rincon in Effingham County. If your town is not on the list, ask rather than assume. Storm work takes priority over scheduled jobs across the whole service area.
